Cast you mind back to the 21st October 2020 if you can. It was REME vs RLC as a head-to-head to avoid relegation on the last day of Lions League Season 2. The Mustangs would finish up 3-0 winners and secure a Division 1 spot for Season 3, Oh how different thing could have been. In the team that day were EnZy, Rydog, Maccies, Sugster and Lawzify. The team knew it was a must win game, and boy did they deliver an emphatic result. Having casted it that day, I can still remember some epic clutch plays from EnZy and an outrageous snipe from Lawzify on Piccadilly in particular.

Fast forward to the night before their final game of Season 3 and the pressure was back on to deliver. This time however, it was at the other end of the table that had the Mustang's attention. After going 6 from 6 with a perfect streak of no maps lost, a win vs the RAC would give them a flawless season and truly cement their dominance of Lions League CoD Division 1. Defeat however, would put them into a play-off against either the Royal Engineers or the Royal Armoured Corps but sure enough, they did not disappoint. My casting that night did not have the excitement to it that people may have been expecting, this is because of an expectation of the positive result and knowing where we'd come from just 5 months ago. BO:CW has been a completely different beast to MW.

There's not much to cover on the game itself, the opening hardpoint match on garrison ebbed and flowed to the 100 point marker before Rydog and co turned the screw to eek out a commanding lead. In spite of some early round jitters, 6-2 for SnD on Checkmate was a fair reflection. Even with some genius movement from Youngy of the RAC in round 3 that gave the RAC a 2-1 lead, the REME side bounced back to take the next 5 rounds and victory in the second game. Control on checkmate again was a very much more comfortable affair with it finishing off 3-0 in favour of Team Rydog, and 3-0 overall to finalize a flawless season. That's 7 from 7, 21 maps won, 0 maps lost. A truly outstanding achievement from a team that was staring at relegation last season. Yes there have been personnel changes, but it is the underlying graft and swift adoption of the BO:CW meta that has seen this team succeed.

In the time between the end of season 2 and season 3, the club as a whole has gotten its crest finalised, secured high-profile partners, been recognised by REME HQ as an official entity and taken delivery of its player jerseys. An amazing transformation that is mirrored by the performance of this outstanding team. The CoD A team know there is room for improvement, and I for one believe their hunger will see them grow further to become an even better side. Be proud of yourself gentlemen, but don't rest on your laurels, there's still work to do, so get to it!
